Dreamtime Animation

Dreamtime Animation explores how to take a traditional story and present it using animation technologies. Throughout the program, students will investigate the cultural and historical contexts of Australian Dreamtime stories and how they can adapt these stories for a modern audience using technology. Students will select a dreamtime story as a stimulus to create a short 2D animation. Throughout the program students will learn the skills and techniques required to devise and created a 2D animation using iPad technologies and apps. Students will reflect on their creative process and how technology can assist with storytelling.

During this comprehensive program students will learn how to create their own Political Campaign using media techniques and skills.  They will plan, structure and design a video campaign, using iPad and green screen technologies to persuade and engage their audience while communicating their point of view on political issues. Throughout the program students will reflect on their process as political filmmakers and the impact media has to persuade and communicate meaning to audiences.

This program explores how we can present scientific information in an innovative and engaging way with the purpose to educate and inform audiences. They will plan, structure and design their own Mad Science TV show using iPad and green screen technologies, showcasing the content they are learning in the classroom. The program is tailored to work alongside the science topics you are studying.

THe masked crusader

The Masked Crusader explores how filmmakers use plot and character to communicate moral messages to audiences. This explores the comic book genre and how narrative features are used to create an action story. Students use their knowledge of character traits, viewpoints and plots to create their own superhero series. Working in small groups, students will produce their stories using visual effects and iPad technologies. Throughout the program students will reflect and investigate how we communicate meaning to audience through film, plots and character.

Micro world - the doco!

This program allows students to explore the micro environments within nature through the eyes of a documentary filmmaker. Your students will learn and apply the key techniques used in the documentary film genre.  Students will be introduced to microscopic equipment to capture the ‘hidden’ micro world found within the school grounds.  The program guides your students through the process of creating their own nature documentary using the the micro world as their stimulus. Students learn how a documentary team investigate topics, structures, plans and reports on factual information to document and inform audiences about the smaller things in life.
